Clarksville Grace Church of the Nazarene

Meet our Staff

Rich Cook

Rich loves Jesus. And Rich loves Dana. And his boys Jackson and Grant. And His grandson Henry. And sports. And buffalo wings, burritos, Walt Disney World, the Boston Red Sox, the 1985 Chicago Bears, running, 80s culture, and “Everybody Loves Raymond” reruns. The Cooks have been at Clarksville Grace since November 2017. Before then, Rich and Dana pastored in Portland, Tennessee, for 14 years. Both boys grew up, went to school, made friends, and played ball in one small town. Rich was a youth pastor in Huntsville, Alabama, for six years, and in southern Illinois for two years. Rich and Dana met as students at Olivet Nazarene University. They actually had one class together … knocking out that PE credit with a badminton class. Rich graduated with an English degree in 1992, and Dana with an English Education major in 1993. They married in 1993, honeymooned in Colorado, and came home to Olney, Illinois. Rich became a sports writer, Dana became a middle school teacher, they bought a tiny house and a shih tzu puppy, took long walks, ate snow cones, and have been walking together ever since. Rich loves the local church. Someone once told him that “The church is God’s Plan A for changing the world; there is no Plan B,” and he believes it. Each one of us gets to be a part of making our prayer, “Thy Kingdom come,” be realized. Sure every local church has its problems, but we serve a perfect savior. Keeping our eyes on him, we continue the life-transforming work of sharing the Good News of Jesus. Rich loves to preach! Loves to preach! His spiritual gift is lunch. He loves to talk and pray with people. He loves seeing people come to new life. And … he loves Jesus.

Joe Voight

Joe joined the staff in January 2015. He is originally from Port Clinton, Ohio where he grew up and left to serve in the Army in 1986. Upon God’s call in 2000 he left the Army, learned to play the guitar and began serving in worship ministries and has since finished his B.S. in Religion at Liberty University. He has been a part of the Grace family for 7 years and has served in the band, small group ministries, mission trips, at Warrior Retreats and the church board. He has a passion for ministering to a hurting world through music and the Word by singing, preaching and trying to live a life worthy of his Savior Jesus who has called him. He is also an avid bow hunter, enjoys sports (Ohio State Football), anything at heights, traveling and spending time with his wife Marla and all their kids and grandkids. One of his life verses is 2 Peter 1:3-8: “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.  Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
