Scripture for the day: “Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Grace Received: Last Sunday we talked about the post-resurrection appearance of Jesus to Peter and the other disciples who’d gone fishing (John 21). The Great Shepherd (as Hebrews 13 calls Jesus) directed Peter to show love as well as speak love by tending Jesus’ sheep. The way Peter responded with his life (see I Peter 5:1-4) was a right response to the grace Jesus showed him. The graced one went forth to grace others by serving them. Like Peter, we have been graced beyond belief and called to do the same – not just say love, but show love. Take a minute to thank God for how He’s lavishly poured his mercy and grace on you – and look for someone who needs you to do the same for them. It’s a right response to having been graced.
Grace Shared: Thank you all for the ways you blessed, encouraged, and supported our graduates last Sunday. Pastor Patrick and his team did a fantastic job with the graduate dinner Saturday night and the video on Sunday. Thanks for loving our young people and praying for them as they begin the next chapter.
