Scripture for the day: “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love everyone of you has for each other is increasing.” II Thess 1:3
Grace Received: Saving grace. Sanctifying grace. Keeping grace. Dying grace. Yesterday morning Toni Laub, who had experienced God’s grace in her salvation and throughout her battle with cancer, experienced God’s grace in her final moments. She was surrounded by brothers and sisters from the Grace family who had walked the road with her, as well as her neighbor who brought her here for the first time a couple years ago. It was an easy passing. Dying grace.
Grace Shared: Last Saturday members of our children’s’ quiz team competed with 21 other teams from all over the Southeast. Our team took 4th overall! Team members were: Troy Coulter, Bailey Hartsock, Cyrstal Maghoney, Michael Nash, & Dylan Rush. Great job! We are proud of you!
Interested in church membership? Come to the class from 9-noon on Saturday, May 10 to get all you need to make an informed decision. Childcare is provided.
Grace Extended: This Thursday is the National Day of Prayer. Right now, whatever time of day or night you are reading this, someone is reading Scripture downtown (at 1st Baptist if it is raining, under a tent beside Kennedy Law Firm at Commerce & 3rd St if it’s nice out) as part of a Bible reading event that started Monday at noon and ends Thursday – reading the entire Bible leading up to the National Day of Prayer. The noon event will be held downtown and on Thursday night the prayer time will be held at 1st Baptist and include a concert.
