Scripture for the day: On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” Matt 26:17

Grace Received: I received a wonderful email last week from Sandra Herrington, one of our volunteers at Grace House. In addition to receiving food, clothing, and a gracious welcome, one of the people who came for assistance last Saturday received the grace of forgiveness and new life from Jesus! Before she ever arrived preparations were made. Clothes and food were given by people she did not know or see. They were sorted by volunteers with a basin/towel mentality. Prayers had been offered by those serving. God the Spirit had been preparing the soil of her heart. It all came together on Saturday to create a grace-received moment.
Whether seen or unseen, grace-receiving moments are are always preceded by preparation. Tonight at 6:00 we will gather for a special Maundy Thursday Service and continue our joinery with Jesus to the Cross. I think it would be a good idea for all of us spend some time today making preparations for our time together, and then to come expecting a grace-filled encounter with Jesus.
Easter Schedule: Sunrise service at 6:00
Services at 8:00, 9:30 & 11 (Baptisms at 11)
Grace Shared: I learned yesterday of a Sunday School class that used their benevolence fund to buy eye glasses for a member of their who could not afford it. In the grace-shared group known as their Sunday School class, an atmosphere was created where real needs could be shared without fear or embarrassment and this Gospel-shaped community did what Christ-followers do. They took care of each other. Our groups, whether in homes, classrooms, or coffee shops are about more than gaining information. They are about Christian formation, and Gospel action. If you’re notalready  in a group, check out a SUnday School Class this Sunday.
The Children’s Dept will be selling baked goods and breakfast casserole on Easter Sunday between services.
Grace Extended: Easter invitations were printed, prayed over, provided, and you’ve been prodded, I mean encouraged, to use them. Sunday is almost here so if you haven’t invited someone to come to Easter services with you (including a dinner invitation would be even better!), do it today. Someone you know needs Jesus. He’s put you in their life for reason.
We need helpers for NorthEast High School’s field day! On April 29 from noon-2pm we will run games for 250 seniors @ the the NEHS football field. Pastor Patrick will run the games but we could use a few more folks to help make sure things run smoothly. It’s a great opportunity to engage the kids in our own neighborhood so if you’re available, please contact Pastor Patrick:
