Scripture of the Day:  “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” II Corinthians 5:17-21

Grace Received: Today is Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of Lent (Lent is the 40 day period, excluding Sundays, leading up to Easter. It is a season of preparation, repentance, and renewal. Many people choose to give something up, or sacrifice something to identify with Christ; or to take something on as a way of deepening our devotion to Christ). Ashes are a reminder of our mortality, and they are also a symbol of repentance, or sorrow for sin. Today Christians all over the world will be marked with ashes either on their forehead or hand. The ash isn’t applied in a haphazard manner, but in the shape of a Cross, which is to give shape to our lives. It is in light of the Cross that we face our mortality and renew our commit to walk the way of Jesus. We will enter this significant season of Lent in a corporate gathering for worship tonight at 6:00. It will be a very memorable and meaningful time. I hope you will be able to take advantage of this special opportunity for corporate worship as we receive His grace together. (We will also have the meal at 5:00. Menu is pork roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, dessert)

Grace Shared:  Last Saturday Cindy & Rachel Coday and crew organized and hosted our first ever “Princess Party” for girls ages 2-2nd grade. Around 50 little girls dressed up, played games, had fun, but more importantly received a powerful message about their beauty and identity in Christ:  “I am a daughter of royal birth. My Father is King of heaven and earth.  My spirit was born in the courts on high. A child beloved, a princes am I.” They celebrated feminine beauty and the blessing of being daughters of the King of Kings. Thanks to all who helped make this day a very special one for our little princesses!

Last Saturday was also the first men’s breakfast with our new men’s ministry leader, Derek Cooke. Men and boys gathered to eat well, fellowship, and make plans for the direction of men’s ministry. You will be hearing much more about this in the near future. If you have any questions about men’s ministry or have an interest in being involved, please contact Derek Cooke at:

Grace Extended: The primary reason for the upcoming remodel of the sanctuary is to maximize our space for all aspects of our life together:  grace received, grace shared, and grace extended. It’s not just for us, but for those who are not yet with us, that we are striving for a better stewardship of our space. With last week’s offering of over $8,000 that brings our total received so far to $34,419 which is about 1/2 way to our goal. We are making progress! Your leadership at Grace is committed to completing this project debt free so will continue to encourage everyone to give  sacrificially and generously until we have what is needed. Great days ahead!
