Scripture for the day: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Grace Received: Last Sunday we heard the family story of Ruth – the outsider foreigner who was redeemed and then became a participant in God’s grand story of redemption. Her story is our story. As Paul reminds us, “You are not your own, you were bought with a price.” At one time we too were foreigners and aliens, estranged from God. It is only because of God’s grace that we have been redeemed. Thank you Jesus!
I had a conversation Monday with a young man who was reflecting on how his language has improved in the last few months. It brought to mind the Scripture where Jesus said, “Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.” His change of vocabulary is bigger than mere words. It is evidence of a heart that is being transformed. That’s the grace of God at work!
Looking ahead, we will be having a baptism class on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:00. If you’ve not been baptized and are interested in attending, please let me know:
Grace Shared: Congratulations to Barbara Warren who was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame at Signature Health Care Center (Formerly Montgomery Care Center) Barbara volunteers there 3 days a week and her selfless service was recognized in a big way!
Congratulations to Derek Cooke who graduates this Friday from APSU.
The way you relate to each other makes a difference! Last Sunday Caroline WIlliams, with tears in her eyes, shared gratitude for the deep friendships she experienced during her time at Grace. Last Sunday was the William’s last before they PCS to Virginia.
A couple days later I learned that Trina has been at Grace for about 6 years. Why Grace? Because when she experienced a great loss shortly after visiting here, the people of Grace showered love, support, and encouragement on her and her family. She’s been here ever since. Your investment in and love for each other is powerful. Keep it up!
Thanks to all those who had a joyful spirit and willingness to adapt and overcome last Sunday when inclement weather kept many of our leaders at home. Classes combined, people stayed flexible and we ended up having a great day with those who were able to make it. You guys are wonderful!
Grace Extended: During the month of November our compassionate ministry called Grace House fed and clothed 34 families (100 people). Thanks to all who serve 2 Saturdays a month in this much needed ministry. If you would like to donate, volunteer, or get more information contact Melanie Dickerson:
