Scripture for the day: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last…” John 15;16

Grace Received: Aug 19 is a special day for me. 25 years ago tonight I heard and responded to God’s call to preach the Word. I have experienced His grace in immeasurable ways in what has been an incredible journey. Following the call has taken me to Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and McCormick Theological Seminary. It has taken me to local churches in Oak Hill, WV and Kansas City, MO where I served (and learned!) as a youth pastor, and to Harrisonville, MO and Clarksville, TN where I have served (and learned!) as a senior pastor.  God, in His grace, has blessed me with professors, mentors, and fellow travelers on this journey of following Jesus who have modeled the holy life, encouraged, corrected, and walked with me. He has graced me with a supportive wife and kids. He has surrounded me with me like-minded, like-hearted people who have a hunger for God, love for people, and longing to see, and be a part of God’s work in our world. I continue to be humbled by the call, grateful for God’s gracious choice, and graced far beyond what I could ever deserve. I’m excited to see what the next 25 years hold and more confident than ever in the boundless mercy and grace of our great God!
Grace Shared: This Sunday (Aug 25) will be receiving a love offering for Tori Steveson. She and her family attended Grace while stationed at Ft. Campbell but are now at Ft. Riley, KS and Josh is in Afghanistan. Tori has a serious brain issue that requires her to see a neurosurgeon in North Carolina in October. It will be a big expense just getting there for several days of tests, doctors visits, and probably surgery. We want to help with the travel expenses so whatever you can give to this effort will be greatly appreciated.
Paul and Carolyn Gibson are new to Clarksville and to Grace. They are getting getting settled in and are looking for a few items. If you have a sofa, washer/dryer or reliable car that you would be interested in selling, please contact them at paulcarolyn.gibson@gmail.com

Congratulations to Tiffany Potter who graduates this Wednesday with a nursing degree, and Mike Rucker for the grand opening of MI Engraving’s 2nd location – this one at Ft. Campbell. We rejoice with you!

Grace Extended: As we shared yesterday, Grace will be trying to provide workers for NEHS concession stands for their home football games this year so that the parents of the players can watch their kids play. If your family, Sunday School class or Grace Shared Group would be able to serve one Friday night, please contact joevoight@phoenixoftn.com
