Scripture for the day:

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.“ 2 Peter 1:3-4

Grace Received

“I learned that God made us and the Garden of Eden but we messed it up.” I learned that God can be trusted.” “I learned that God kept His promise to Abraham and He keeps His promises to us.” These were some of the comments from our kids at camp when I saw them on Wednesday. I know the truths they are learning from the Bible now will continue to be affirmed in their own experiences later. As the ancients experienced the grace of God then, so we, and our children who are just getting started in their journey, do now. I’m grateful to be in a church and denomination that takes seriously the call to make disciples of all nations – and all ages. The sermon this week will come from Luke 10:38-42. To those of you who may be vacationing or traveling – have fun, be careful, and see you soon. Don’t forget that the sermons are online if you’d like to catch up on what you’ve missed. For everyone else – can’t wait to see you Sunday!

Aug 4 will be Brandon Estep’s last Sunday as our interim worship arts pastor. If you’d like to send him a note his email is ( Pastor Bailey Bussell will be joining us Aug. 18. Her email is address is (

Grace Shared

At Grace we believe EVERYONE should be involved in an intentional, disciple-making relationship. That is how we are formed in the faith. One of our primary structures for providing this opportunity is our home-based Grace-Shared groups. These groups meet on the 2nd and 4th weekend of each month in homes all over Clarksville. We have 2 new groups starting in the next few weeks and welcome Joel & Tammy Leiningerand Blake & Megan Hawkins as new group leaders. There will be more new groups forming this Fall. If you are not already in a group or would like to know more, stop by the Grace Shared Groups display in the foyer or contact Joe

Grace Extended

“As soon as a man has found Christ, He begins to find others.” Charles Spurgeon DON’T FORGET VBS STARTS THIS COMING MONDAY. TELL ALL THE KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!! I recently received a great e-mail from Kelly Magnuson. Read this portion of it, then go and do likewise! “Just wanted to share this with you… the bug guy came and he is new to the company that we use. While he was here were got to talking about having grown up in Clarksville. He is about a year younger than Jeff and I. I asked him since he graduated from MCHS if he knew Christy Houston, but he didn’t and he asked me why. So I told him that she is the principal out there and that we go to church with her. So he asked what church and I told him and he was really shocked because he said that the first encounter that he had with our church was last year at Christmas on the Cumberland. He said that he stood and listened to the choir for a long time because it was just a beautiful thing. I asked him if he went to church anywhere and he said that he did not have a church home. So I took that moment to extend an invitation for him to join us at church on Sunday and he said that he would try to make it if he was not working… I am really hoping that this young man will join us!!” Be on the lookout. The opportunities to extend Grace (and invitations) are everywhere!
