Verse of the day: “Not one of the Lord’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” Joshua 21:45
Grace Received: There is reason to rejoice! Last Thursday night Dan and Marsha Mort were visiting with Helen who is pretty new to Grace. In the course of conversation about what it means to be a follower of Jesus, Helen prayed to accept Christ! Last night I had the privilege of praying with a young couple who did the same thing. Long before they came through the doors of Grace, God was at work drawing Derek & Amy to Himself. We will be celebrating with them as they and their little boy Carson are baptized (along with about 10 others) on Easter!
Looking forward to worshipping with all of you this Sunday which is Palm Sunday. The sermon will be from Luke 22:14-28.
Grace Shared: Last Sunday night your church board gathered for our monthly meeting. This group of spiritual leaders conducted business as leaders are called to do, but about 1/2 of the meeting was spent in intercessory prayer. After NYI President Mike Borgman shared about the good things going on with Pastor Patrick and our youth group, your church board requested the names of teenagers for whom they could pray. Before we left, every leader was given the name of 1-2 teens and they are praying for them daily. This group of leaders is setting the example and embodying what it means to receive, share, and extend grace. It’s a pleasure to serve alongside people like them!
Congratulations to Army chef Justin Cooke who is excelling in his field and winning cooking competitions. His proud parents are Derek and Deborah Cooke.
Congratulations to Jonathan Etson and Matthew Rucker who were the 2 students selected to represent NEHS in the building competition at RHS this coming Friday. Good luck guys!
Grace Extended: This last Tuesday we welcomed the senior class from NEHS to Grace for the 1st Annual NEHS Career Day. Presenters (most of whom attend Grace) shared about their careers to help these soon-to-be-graduates prepare for their future. It was a delight to extend the grace of hospitality and very helpful, practical information with these students. Special thanks to our Grace presenters: Ken Adams, Ann Boyd, Terry Hartsock, Gary Hicks, Mark Nash, Mike Rucker, Karyn Smith, Gene Voegele, Joe Voight, & Jo Anne Waikel!
