Scripture for the day:  “Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39

Grace Received: Yesterday was a great day! God, as He so faithfully does, met with us once again to receive our praises and shower His grace upon us. He heard our prayers for deliverance, guidance, and forgiveness as He gathered us near His heart.  After the 11:00 service an elderly gentleman named Joe who came to Grace for the first time  with his daughter and son-in-law, came to the hospitality room. It was evident that God had been working on him long before he arrived at Grace. Yesterday God brought Joe to a point of repentance. Through tears he confessed his need for Christ and committed the years he has left to following Jesus. It was beautiful! I am thankful for the loving pursuit of a holy God who has a heart a to redeem us! As we continue our Lenten journey and spend time on Fridays fasting specifically for people who do not yet know Jesus, I believe we will continue to see people find their way back to God.
Grace Shared: Over the last few days I have had the blessing of seeing how the people of Grace love and care for each other. You guys are amazing! Thank you for the kindness you’ve shown to the Kunesh family in their loss. Please continue to pray for them as they prepare for the memorial service for Chad that will be this Saturday at 1:00.  Thanks as well for the many expressions of love you showed to Pastor Elissa and Brandon for their final Sunday. I’m sure they too will appreciate your prayers as they move to Florida this week.
Congratulations are in order to all of our quizzers. Great job this year to Coach Terry Hartsock and our teen quizzers! We’re proud of you and all your hard work studying the Word. Great season!  Congratulations also to Pastor Rachelle and our children’s quizzers. They aren’t finished yet. They had a quiz yesterday afternoon at Clarksville 1st and will be proudly displaying 1st place trophies for both the red and blue level teams. You guys are awesome!
Grace Extended: For the last 4 years our international mission trips have been supported by the entire congregation. Those who have not gone have been faithful to pray and give. This coming June 10-17 we will be going back to Maysaya, Nicaragua to build a home for the pastor, his wife and 2 kids. We built a church there last summer.  Nicaragua is the 2nd most impoverished country in the Western Hemisphere and we are looking forward to the opportunity to bless our brothers and sisters there. Mission trip participants pay their own way  but we have taken on the task as a congregation to raise the money needed for the construction project. We need about $7,000 and many of you have already been giving weekly to that end. This coming Sunday night at 5:00 we have our annual missions auction. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. I want to encourage you to bring an item or two for the auction and plan to buy a few things as well. It’s a fun way for us to fulfill part of mission which is to extend grace – not just here in Clarksville, but around the world.

Opportunities to bless our neighborhood: We will be opening our doors at Grace to several different community events in the next 2 months. In March we will host a training for all local pastors for the Billy Graham “My Hope” evangelism event. We’ll also host this year’s Leadership Clarksville Class for their Religion and Diversity Day. On March 19 the entire Senior Class from NEHS will have their first-ever career day on our campus. Most of the 20+ presenters for that day attend Grace.
In April we will host both the Aspen Grove and Creekview Village Homeowners Association Annual Meetings. God is literally bringing our neighbors to us! These will be wonderful opportunities to show Christian hospitality to our neighbors!!
We’ve been seeing a lot of first-time faces, especially in the last month. Many of these have come because you have been inviting your friends. I LOVE seeing God at work through you as you are reaching out, extending grace, and influencing your friends for Christ. I am so proud to be part of a church like this where people are receiving, sharing, and extending God’s grace! I pray you all have a blessed week!
