Scripture for the day:  “In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”  Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:26-33

Grace Received: When we get together for worship this week on the 2nd Sunday of Advent, we will led by our children. For the last several weeks Christy Houston and Katie Hackett have been working diligently with the talented group of children we have at Grace. I’m looking forward to the message God gives us through them and hope to see you here!

We’ll have a baptism class Wednesday, Dec. 12th  at 7:00. If you are interested in attending, please let me know:

Grace Shared:  You’re all invited to “Speak” – an event highlighting our youth Friday Night from 6:30-9:00 in the youth room. It’ll be a great night of arts and creativity, coffee-house style with coffee, drinks and snacks provided. A $5 donation is suggested. Our kids will be performing and there will also be a concert by singer/songwriter Joseph Jared.

4 couples completed our first-ever Grace 101 Class this past Wednesday night. This is a 4 week introduction to Grace with each session taught by a different leader. We congratulate and welcome Steven & Sarah Johnson, Nathan & Alisha Mueller, Chad & Angela Taflinger, and hosts Johnny and Sara Rivera. They will be doing a grace-extending project together this Tuesday night as they offer free gift wrapping at K-Mart. It’s great to have these families at Grace!

Our next class will start the first Wednesday of January. If you are interested in attending, please contact Brenda at the church office:

Grace Extended:  I want to thank you all for the gracious hospitality you showed last week to the NEHS choir and their family members. Special thanks to Charlotte & Nate Moore, Kay Deffendall, and Helen Etson for putting together the dinner we served these students.

Drive Thru Nativity is almost here! Dec. 14-16 we will welcome thousands onto our campus and share with them the story of the nativity. Many of you have signed up to serve as actors, singers, servers of hot chocolate and cookies, kitchen help, etc. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so this weekend. There is a place for everyone to serve in our largest outreach event of the year. Questions may be directed to Scott Thomas:
