Scripture for the day: “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

Grace Received: One of our Wednesday night groups has been studying the Gospel of John. In John 6:44 Jesus said: “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them…”  So who is the Father drawing to Jesus today? YOU! Me! Your co-worker. Your neighbor. Your battle buddy. Your son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, friend, enemy, in-law, out-law, acquaintance and stranger.  Today, our gracious God is drawing (wooing, compelling, directing, awakening) people everywhere to His Son Jesus who is the Source of real life and relationship. This Scripture reminds me that long before I ever acted upon or even knew about any need or desire for God, God was already acting on His desire for me to have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. Thank God today for HIs drawing grace in your own life, and look for where you might see Him at work (and join Him) drawing others.
Grace Shared: I was pretty fired up this week when I received a message from one of our deployed soldiers that said, “I found three soldiers to mentor in Christ…” Whether it’s at a Clarksville coffee shop, a home based Grace-Shared Group, Sunday morning class, or half a world away where Tony is mentoring other soldiers in the faith, Grace Nazarenes are taking seriously the call to be involved in intentional, disciple-making relationships. In a conversation this morning with a brother in Christ who worships at another church, we were reflecting on the people God has put in our lives to help us on the journey. Take a moment to think about those in your life right now with whom you have the privilege of sharing the grace of God – and be thankful!
THANK YOU to all who gave, making it possible for Audrey Moore to fly to Hawaii this week for her father’s funeral. Love seeing how the Grace family responds when someone is need!
Don’t forget the SURPRISE 80th birthday party for Pastor Hartsock tomorrow (Saturday) from 3-5 at the church. We are encouraging everyone to bring cash gifts to contribute to his car fund.
Grace Extended: With Thanksgiving almost here we have been made aware of some families (both in and outside the church) who could really use some help. If you’d like to bless another family with a Thanksgiving meal, you can do so by either bringing food and placing it on the Grace House table in the foyer, or giving a monetary gift to that end (please mark it accordingly on your envelope or memo line of your check).
It’s a little ways off but on March 19, 2013 we will be leading the charge in organizing and staffing a Career Day for the senior class at NEHS. I’m grateful for the opportunities God is giving us to be a blessing to our community!

This Sunday’s sermon wil be from Mark 13 if you want to take a look at it before Sunday.
