Scripture for the day: Excerpt from our Engage the Word reading for today: “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with is passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit…. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 5:24-25, 6:2
Grace Received: Today is All Saints Day. It’s sort of like a Christian Memorial Day. We pause to remember and thank God for the saints who have gone before us, particularly those who have been martyred for the faith. According to the Voice of the Martyrs, there have been attacks on Christians (modern day saints) in India, Pakistan, Tanzania, etc. in the last couple weeks. Pray that they may have the grace to stand strong in the faith, even in the face of persecution.
I learned this morning that at last Friday night’s Celebrate Recovery, one man found his way back to God. Praise the Lord! The grace of God is still calling, drawing, and delivering people from the bondage of sin and enabling us to live in the power of His Spirit. May the grace of God be yours in abundance today!
Grace Shared: I was proud of our Sr. High students last Sunday night. One group visited a nursing home, bringing some youthful joy to lonely hearts in the name of Jesus. Another group went to several different houses and surprised some wives of deployed soldiers and a few others from Grace by mowing their yards and taking care of their leaves. Thanks Grace Sr. Highers for these tangible displays of love to your brothers and sisters in Christ!
This Saturday we will be having our monthly Men’s Breakfast at 8:00, followed by a WORK DAY to take care of a few things in and outside the church. Would love to see a good crew here for that!
Saturday at 9:00 AM – Work Day
