Scripture for the day: “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: ‘Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.” Genesis 8:20-21

Grace Received: I hope everyone is participating in our 40-day Engage the Word emphasis that starts today. The Day 1 reading is Genesis 8:1-9:17. If you haven’t signed up for this online you can do so at

This coming Sunday we start revival services with David Gallimore.  We will have evening services Sun-We at 6:00. Nurseries will be staffed and Pastor Rachelle will lead a children’s revival for 1-5th graders.  This is a special time in the life of the church where we are investing in our relationships with God and with each other.  The Grace-Shared Group that meets at my house is coming to revival together on Tuesday night and going out after the service. I hope you will also take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to join with others as we draw near to God. I’m looking forward to a great time!

Don’t forget – schedule change happens this Sunday. Services will be at 9:30 and 11:00

Grace Shared: Chad’s new neighbors were watching closely when two pick-up trucks and a pack of motorcycles followed his moving truck to their neighborhood last Saturday morning. The quiet neighborhood got a little louder with the arrival of their new neighbor and his friends.  When the need was shared, the people of Grace (specifically the Grace Riders Group) responded. In record time a well-packed truck was unloaded as we welcomed a new family to Clarksville. Every week I hear or have the privilege of seeing you guys take good care of each other. It makes me proud!
If you’ve not yet signed up for a Grace Shared Group stop by the display in the foyer, take a look, and fill out a card.

Grace Extended: Two days from now 15 soldiers/spouses will gather at Camp Garner Creek (the Nazarene retreat center in Dickson, TN) for the first ever Warrior Retreat.  The people of Grace have made this retreat possible, not only through your prayers and verbal support, but by your generosity. Grace is the largest sponsor for this retreat which is being provided free of charge to our soldiers and their families (including childcare).  Thank you for your willingness to pray, serve, and give. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in the lives of these soldiers! Please be praying Wed-Fri specifically for this retreat. I’m sure we will have much to celebrate come Sunday.
Mark your calendars now for our Trunk or Treat event. It will be held Saturday, Oct. 27th. Start stocking up on candy and coming up with some creative ideas for decorating your car/truck!
