Scripture for the day: “When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your forefathers, to Abraham and Isaac, and Jacob, to give you – a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant – then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” Deuteronomy 6:10-12

Grace Received: Today is Patriot Day. We are all remembering where we were on that fateful day 11 years ago when an unthinkable act of war was committed in New York City. Today our nation, and many others around the world, are taking time to reflect and to remember. It’s important that we not forget the lives lost on that September day that changed everything for so many people. We know that to dismiss it, or to forget, would be to dishonor the innocents and those whose acts of heroism inspired us all.
In a sense we do the same thing every time we come to the Table of the Lord. We reflect. We remember. We honor the Savior who was both innocent and heroic on the day that changed everything for so many people. We remember the death that brought us life, and the life that defeated death. We experience all over again an overwhelming sense of gratitude for His grace and a sense of awe for HIs sacrificial love. If you turn on the TV tonight chances are pretty good you’ll be reminded of 9-11.  If you happen to have some bread with your dinner, I hope you’re also reminded of the great love of God.
We will be celebrating baptisms on Sunday, Sept. 23rd. Please let me know if you’re interested in being baptized. We will have a baptism class on Wednesday, Sept. 19th at 7:00 p.m.
Grace Shared: Our newest Grace-Shared Group is called “Grace Riders.” This group meets 2 Saturdays a month for some Word time, prayer, and weather permitting, a motorcycle ride. The vision for this group and their leader Russ Russell, is to ultimately become a sanctioned motorcycle ministry.  If you ride a motorcycle (or want to use this as that excuse you’ve been looking for to get one!) there is room for you! For more information or to be put on the Grace Riders mailing list contact Russ Russell at
Grace Extended: THANK YOU Grace Church for supporting the Warrior Retreat! In response to a simple invitation to sponsor a couple ($250) to attend the retreat, we received more than $2700 last Sunday. You guys are amazing! If you would like to participate in this effort  but were not able to give on Sunday, you can contribute anytime over the next couple weeks. We are expecting this to be a life changing event and you are helping make it possible.
We continue to minister to the hungry and needy through Grace House (now 2 Saturdays a month from 10am-noon). If you’d like to volunteer or learn more about this ministry opportunity, contact Melanie Dickerson at
