Scripture for the day:   For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

Grace Received: I have really missed getting to preach at Grace the last 2 Sundays but am grateful to Pastor Patrick and Pastor Elizabeth for feeding the Grace flock while we were in Nicaragua. I am looking forward to seeing you all back this Sunday!!!

I got an update yesterday from the mission trip we were part of in Peru two years ago. A portion of the time there we were in the city of Arequippa, where the efforts of Extreme Nazarene and hundreds of short-term missionaries resulted in the establishment of 4 new churches in that city, three of which will soon be having their own buildings constructed. Last Sunday night at the service we attended in Managua, Nicaragua 4 people experienced the saving grace of Jesus Christ. The same thing is happening through the ministry of Grace in Clarksville. Our God is definitely at work! In Peru, Nicaragua, the U.S. and around the world He is pursuing the lost with his unconditional love, forgiving sins, delivering captives, strengthening believers, and empowering our worship and witness. I can’t wait to see what He’s going to do among us this Sunday as we enter our 3rd week in the stories of I Samuel. Michelle and I will be inviting two couples to church this Sunday who comprise part of the 1% of unchurched in Clarksville that God has called us to reach. I hope you do the same!

Grace Shared: This week 35 of our 1-3rd graders are at Camp Garner Creek. The last two weeks we had a total of 30 teenagers attend camp and we still have at least one more camp to go. Throughout the year your anniversary offerings have not only been given as a celebration of God’s faithfulness to your marriages, but as gifts to assist our students to attend camp. Life-changing things have been happening at camp (you will hear more about this on July 8) and I want to say THANK YOU to all who have helped make that possible. Grace is a generous place. Thanks for investing in the spiritual growth of our kids and teens!
Grace Extended: The last several months you have given tools, supplies, an extra dollar a week, and your prayers to make it possible for us to extend the grace of God not only at home, but in Central America.(We are going to continue to ask for that extra dollar a week offering to support our 2013 mission trip which you’ll hear more about on July 15.)  In addition to that, in our last fiscal year (ended May 31) you gave over $100,000 to others through World Evangelism, the Pensions and Benefits fund (this supports our retired Nazarene ministers), TNU (Trevecca Nazarene University) and the TN District. That doesn’t include what was done for local benevolence, Grace House, our support of NEHS, the FUEL program, and our giving to other local ministries. For God so loved the world that he GAVE – and when we give we are putting on display that same generous Spirit that I believe causes God to smile. As we begin a new fiscal year we do so with an ongoing commitment to receive grace (corporately and individually), share grace with one another in intentional, disciple-making relationships, and pick up the basin and towel of service as we extend grace both locally and globally. It’s who we are. It’s what we do. It is what we we will continue to do with greater passion, energy, and tenacity than ever before!
