Mission Nicaragua

The Grace team of missionaries left for Nicaragua this morning.  Please pray for the members of the Work & Witness Mission Team.  The team members are: Megan & Rebekah Cooke, Steve & Blake Estep, Josh Etson, Terry Hartsock, John Lumpkin, Charlotte Moore, Mike & Matt Rucker and Joe & Marla Voight.

We will be posting updates as they come in.

Day 1 in Nicaragua

Day 1 – Hot, humid, hot, no electricity til a little while ago, and did I mention hot? Had a fantastic day working on a roof, painting, and meeting some of the Church of the Nazarene’s finest in this amazing place on the shores of Lake Nicaragua. Beautiful tropical flowers, a volcano, and lots of lizards! This is a great crew from Grace and we are enjoying the work, each other, and the vision of how God is going to use our efforts to make a long-term impact. Having a great time extending grace in some tangible ways and proud to be part of this world-wide Nazarene family!

Day 2 in Nicaragua

by Steve Estep

Day 2 in Nicaragua was great! Lots more work done in spite of an afternoon power outage. Roof construction is progressing, another roof was painted, lots of ground cleared with machetes and we went to a mission church (no building, we met in a field next to a baseball field) tonight. Everyone is tired but staying strong and healthy so thanks Grace family for all the prayers!

Day 3 in Nicaragua

Day 3 in Nicaragua: Despite more rain it was another productive day. More work on roof construction, roof painting, clearing a fence line w/machetes, painting benches, and sanding pews which we will stain tomorrow. The place we are working will one day be a training center for pastors as well as a district center. Everyone continues to work hard and we are having fun extending grace. Much love to everyone back home!

Day 4 in Nicaragua

by Steve Estep

Day 4 – lots of rain and another long power outage didn’t keep us from getting a lot done! Finished sanding and varnishing all the pews and they look great. Did get to do some more welding on the roof and if weather cooperates, will put a lot of tin on tomorrow and work on the drop ceiling as well. Those who were sick yesterday are feeling good now. It’s going great!
