The Baby Under Attack
The Baby under Attack
Satan will often try to squelch what God is doing right at the outset-before it gathers momentum and builds a stronger faith.
One of the great things about the church in Antioch was that God’s grace wasn’t just being talked about it was evident, because “The Lord’s hand was upon them.” This evidence was confirmed when Barnabas went to see them (Acts 11:23).
What were some evidences in a church where God’s grace is being extended?
1. Unbelievers were repenting of sin and turning toward the Lord.
A. Do we know any unbelievers whom we can bring closer to the Lord?
2. Mass water baptismal services had to be scheduled.
A. Do we know anyone who isn’t baptized?
3. Strong congregational prayer meetings.
A. Can we participate more often in congregational prayer meetings? Being intentional, committed, and fervent?
4. A spirit of unity and love among believers.
Col 3:14 and Romans 15:5-6
How can we live together in the attitude and power of grace? What are some examples?
“It didn’t matter what was against those believers because God’s blessings and grace were for them in a remarkable way.”
Are we willing as a church to ask for the mighty hand of the Lord to be upon us, using us for His glory, and thus seeing what only He can do supernaturally? Where much is given much is expected.
Rom 12:1-3 and 1 John 3:16.
God’s Plan- Col. 1:24-29. 2 Tim. 3:17
“Our calling is to live in fellowship with Christ and to labor with Him in extending His Kingdom. We are the very reason why Christ came to die on the cross.”
Have we been experiencing the deep sense of fulfillment and joy that comes only when we are partnering with Jesus?
Knowing we are equipped for every good work we can step out in faith and do what seems to be difficult with boldness. The call of Christ is to die to self and to live for Him.
What does the world say about what we do for others and each other?
What kind of seeds have we sown today? Yesterday? Tomorrow?
“Satan knows about the crucial role that local churches play in the building of God’s Kingdom. Because of the threat that all Christian Congregations are to Satan, churches are his special target.”
Do some of these tactics sound familiar?
1. Deceit of the importance of the local church and the potential it has with God. If we examine ourselves are we visiting or serving in the church? Can we encourage each other?
2. Traditionalism and lifeless ceremony. A form of Godliness but no demonstration of power.
3. Stifling and discouraging the spirit of prayer.
4. Strife and division, gossiping and fighting-grieving away the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
5. Church splits
6. False doctrine, emotional fanaticism, and harsh attitudes.
7. Pastors and ministers coming under continual and intense personal or spiritual attack.
“How tragic it is that so many believers pour over daily newspapers to learn about the latest world events when the things that are most important to God are happening right in our own churches.”
The Lord Jesus Christ is placing a great importance as to the awakening of every Christian congregation concerning the Kingdom of Heaven and the divine plan of salvation.
Why does Satan attack babies? Remember Jesus, Moses, and Joseph? “Whenever people stir themselves to seek the Lord, whenever someone steps out in faith upon God’s promises, whenever a fresh consecration is made to yield oneself completely to Him-that is the very time when Satan’s most cunning attack will often occur. We must never be surprised or alarmed when the baby comes under attack and Satan tries to snuff out the fresh, new thing God is preparing to do.”
And in all this we need not to be discouraged but serve one another, sharpen one another, rejoice with one another, and love one another because “God has begun a good work in us and He will bring it to completion as we wait in faith( Philippians 1:6).
