Grace Weekly Dec. 14, 09
This last weekend I was just about as proud as I could be as a pastor and member of Grace. What a phenomenal weekend of receiving, sharing, and extending grace! Hundreds were involved and thousands were touched – literally. Choir members; shepherds; angels; Josephs; Marys; scene builders; food preparers; hot-chocolate servers; costume makers; sound equipment carriers (and I’m sure I’m missing someone) of all ages converged for two nights to display the story of Jesus’ birth at Christmas on the Cumberland.
At the same time that was going on Friday night, a 2:42 group was feeding, ministering to, and sharing Jesus with some homeless men who stayed at the Annex for Room in the Inn
–and at the same time this was going on, hurts habits and hang-ups were being addressed at Celebrate Recovery
– and the same time that was happing our Sr. Adult group was having a progressive dinner. What a night! Grace was extended and shared.
Then on Sunday Pastor Rachelle and the adults who so faithfully serve alongside her, led the best kids in Clarksville as they sang their hearts out in the program “Miracle on Main Street” and God graced us through our children.
Last night in homes all over Clarksville, people hungry to be conformed to the image of Jesus met to eat, study the Word, encourage and pray for each other. Grace was shared. Many of those groups put together Christmas baskets that will be distributed to families in need this week.
In the middle of all that, the plans for our remodeling project were unveiled – the fruit of months of prayer, planning, and painstaking work done by the Grace church board and staff. What a weekend!!!!
I am thrilled about what God is doing in and through us, and excited about what the future holds. God is great. The present is grace-filled, and the future is bright. I’m glad to be making this journey with such a fantastic group of people!
