Make the most of every opportunity.
Verse for the week: “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation always be full of grace… Colossians 4:5-6
It’s all about grace:
Grace received – as we connect with God
Grace shared – as we connect with each other
Grace extended – as we connect with our community
It’s not yet noon and I’ve already had a great and grace-filled day. I received grace from God in my time with Him this morning. Years ago I had a professor tell me that corporate worship, reading Scripture, prayer, and practicing other spiritual disciplines is just a way for us to put ourselves in a position where God can grace us. I have found that to be true even today. Without first receiving grace from God, we have nothing to share, and nothing to give.
Then later in the morning I met with 3 men. We shared some breakfast. We shared some Scripture. We shared some life experiences and a mutual desire to know, love and serve our Savior. We shared grace with each other.
I’m not sure what else today holds but I’m going to be on the lookout to extend the love, mercy, and grace that I have been fortunate enough to receive and share already today. Someone I’ll come across – and someone you will come across before the day is over -- will need someone like me, someone like you to extend grace in whatever form that may take. Make the most of every opportunity.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Steve
